Outdoor Events Milwaukee Wisconsin

oAs I drove my car around my city I noticed an amazing sight, I can see grass! Sure it might be muddy brown and dead but it’s grass nevertheless! I have been waiting months, though it seems like years, for any sign that this nose stinging, traffic jamming winter is at its end. That being said, I know we can all appreciate the thought of warmer days and the sun shining down with its feel good vitamin D. A great place to get a good dose of that would be Milwaukee Wisconsin, a gorgeous town with tons of lake front events. I would like to focus on two in particular:

Sweet Home Milwaukee 5K

We all tend to pack on a few pounds throughout the winter months, why not get a jump start on the bikini season progress early? On April 27th in 2014 the Sweet Home Milwaukee 5K will start at 8:30 in the morning, at Veteran’s Park. Breathe in the sights of spring and enjoy the lakefront while benefiting your health and the health of another. Participants are encouraged to bring non-perishable food for the food drive being held while the race is in progress. Don’t fret if running really isn’t your speed, you are more than welcome to benefit from the 5K by walking. If you are interested, you can register online, the price is $40, you are also welcome to register on race day but the price will be $50 and there is a possibility that your goodies will have to arrive in the mail, instead of being given to you there. The goodies include, a shirt, a medal, a coupon for a BOGO Bloody Mary at Sobelman’s Pub, swag bag, race photos and you might even see yourself at the finish line, on the screen of a Jumbotron! Be sure to collect your free drink at the end of the race and unwind at the after party.

Milwaukee Air and Water Show

On the rise to being one of the local largest destination events is the Milwaukee Air and Water Show; this event is held June 21st and 22nd along the Milwaukee lakefront. It is free but reserved seating can be purchased, optimal parking is at Veteran’s Park, sound familiar? The best views will be north of that park. Gates open at 9am and the show starts at 10am, there will be vendors selling souvenirs, foods and drinks. You are welcome to bring your own food and beverages but no alcohol is allowed and stay away from any containers made of glass, as it is prohibited. It is possible that there will be up-close views of the aircrafts, visible on a LED jumbotron. Also a kid’s area will be located by the side of Lincoln Memorial Drive, other exhibits and displays will surround the area. If you are in the water on a boat and would like to watch the show please be sure to stay in the safety area the U. S. Coast Guard designates. Come by, rain or shine, to see talented pilots and their aerobatic routines.

I hope this helps you start planning your fun in the sun! Milwaukee Wisconsin is a beautiful place to live and visit.
