Power Solutions for SuperFly LED Board

Our mobile jumbotrons are ready to go in any location, no matter what power is available nearby. The SuperFly has an on-board generator to run the screen, or we can plug into available shore power or another generator. Either way, we can power our screens in any location, with multiple options.

On-Board Generator:
Each of our mobile video screens, including the SuperFly, are equipped with a self-supplied generator that can run our jumbotron and all necessary gear, no matter the location. The generator is fairly quiet compared to other large generators, so even when we run on our power, it shouldn’t disrupt your guests significantly. There is nothing else needed to run the generator, other than a refill of fuel after running for several days. Running off our generator can be the simple option, but we do suggest plugging into another source as the first choice. This way, we always have our generator as an emergency backup option.

Shore Power Connection:
We can also plug the video screen into another power source, such as shore power from the venue, or another portable generator. Please view our Shore Power Help Sheet (coming soon) for more information on what is needed. It is typically our recommendation to try to plug in another source before using our on-board generator. This just provides us a backup option if something happens with the original source. Then we can run on our generator as an emergency backup. It’s very rare, but anything can happen with another power source, so it is always best to have a second option. A shore power connection is generally very reliable, and often has more power than needed and can easily run our video board.

We carry 100 feet of cable at all times, so we just need to be within 100 feet of the power source to the connection point on our trailer. These LED tiles require a lot of power, so a simple 20 amp outlet is not enough, we need specialty power. Our ends have four male cam locs, and we carry turnaround adapters and bare-wire adapters if we need to plug directly into a box. If we are plugging into supplied power, we require an electrician to help connect and disconnect before and after the event. When plugging into another power  source, these are the requirement for our screens:

  • 240 volt
  • 100 amp
  • Single phase

Note: Refer to Shore Power Help Sheet (coming soon) for more details.
