Cody Baum gets ACE Certified for LED Screen Programming

ACE is a certification program for LED screen technicians put on by Absen USA in Orlando. It is an intense, hands-on training program that will test an LED technician to the limit, and make sure industry best practice strategies are being applied. Cody went in a with some knowledge, but came out an LED expert. If you see Cody on your job, slap him on the back and say way to go Cody. We are all very proud of him here at Fire Up Video and Fire Up Creative.

We attended this several years ago when we were still new to the creative modular LED screen industry. Up until that point we had the same four mobile video walls so we didn’t need to do as much for programming. Now that we are building video screens specific to the event with our modular tiles, we have learned a lot more. Both through the ACE training program, experience on the job, other training programs and research, product training from YesTech, and other LED screen companies in the industry.

The ACE training from Absen put us through all kinds of scenarios and training sessions. The class went over programming tips, troubleshooting, building the video boards, screen repairs, best practices, and other informational session. Unlike other training programs, it had plenty of hands on-time so we could really understand what they teaching. That combined with classes taught by some of the industry-leading engineers led to a great learning experience.

Once the class was done each student had to take a test consisted of troubleshooting, programming, and a written test. They have a high standard in order to receive the ACE certification, so that it is actually meaningful in the industry. After the training session, we brought everything we learned back to the team. The ACE training was a great experience that really taught us a lot, and we realize that we have come a long way since then. But we are still constantly looking for opportunities to keep learning more, even now.
