Choosing the Right Screen for Your Next Event

Different LED Screen Choices For Different Events

Not every event is the same, or has the same needs. Which is why we have several different screen options available to rent. In our fleet we have two matching sets of mobile jumbotrons. We have two 8.5×15 foot screens, and two 12×19 foot screens, as well as a large inventory of modular LED tiles that can be used to create custom video walls of all shapes and sizes.

Depending on several factors, you may choose to have different screens for your event. One of the biggest factors is how large the event is, and how many people you expect to be there. If it is not expected to have a large crowd, you would be fine with one of our 8.5×15 FireFly SS screens, or even a smaller custom screen with our modular tiles. If it is a larger crowd, one of our 12×19 DragonFly screens may be a better fit. Or if the event is even larger with high attendance expected, you can multiple screens to place in different locations, or create an even larger screen with our modular tiles.

You will also want to consider the location of your screens. Certain locations are easier to set up a mobile jumbotron, while others work better with our modular screens built on site. And our DragonFly and FireFly screens are also different sizes, with different size trailers, so we would need to make sure the trailer and screen fits properly in the space. If the screen is to be right on a stage or other structure, we may need to use modular screens, but if it can be just off the side of the stage or in more open areas a mobile screen may be the better option. Please let us know about your layout so we can help you determine the correct screen for your event.

Both of our DragonFly screens have a 10mm pixel pitch, while our modular and FireFly screens have 4.8mm pitch. Simply put, there are more pixels closely together on our 4.8mm pitch, which gives it a more clear picture with the small details. At many events your guests wouldn’t notice the difference unless they are close to the screen. Once you step back, it is much less noticeable, and if you are playing mostly live video without much small text or detail, the average viewer would never even know the difference. But the second part of that is that the DragonFly is approximately twice the size screen, so the same image is on a screen two times the size, so you will still get a very clear image for most things.

And of course, another factor to consider is price. With the DragonFly LED video wall being much larger, and coming with a few more conveniences for running a show, the price of these jumbotrons is typically more than the FireFly. There are many things to consider when choosing which video screen to rent for your event. And it can seem like a lot, but if you have questions, we can easily walk you through it and help you decide the best option for you. Below is a quick guide showing some of the differences between the FireFly and DragonFly screens.
