DragonFly Jumbotron Screen in Action Video

Video Setting Up the DragonFly Screen in Action

In our fleet of mobile jumbotron screens, we own two FireFly SS screens and two DragonFly screens. In this article we will be focusing on the DragonFly LED screens, towering in the air at 12×19 feet. This 10mm pixel pitch DIP screen offers a HD image that looks clear and bright outdoors even in direct sunlight, at 5,500 nits. We ordered the LED tiles from Theatrixx and then had these trailers custom-built. We worked with Elite Custom Trailers to build the jumbotron trailers, and worked closely with them in their shop to finish the build.

The trailers are 29 feet in length, at 8.5 feet wide, with outriggers that come out a couple feet on each side once we raise the screens. The top of the screen towers 24 feet in the air, with the bottom sitting at 12 feet. Once in place, the video board rotates 360 degrees, allowing us to put the trailer in tighter spaces while still being able to face the screen in an ideal direction. It also allows us to face the screen in multiple directions throughout the day if the focus shifts to another area of your event.

The video wall is IP65 weatherproof rated, basically meaning that it will hold up in rain and snow conditions so you don’t need to worry about a little precipitation shutting down the screen. The weather conditions that can cause us to temporarily lower the screen is high winds and lightning, but if you have these severe conditions, your event is likely on pause anyway.

Our custom trailers also come with built-in control rooms with plenty of AV gear to run the show right from the screen. Whether we are running the show or you have your own team that would like to control the show, we have the space and equipment to produce a professional event. There is AC included in the control room, as well audio capabilities.

The jumbotron also comes with an self-contained generator that can power the entire screen. We do however prefer plugging into shore power or an on-site generator and to use our on-board generator as a backup option. We carry 100 feet of feeder cable, and you can find all other electrical requirements here: Electrical Help. We will work with you ahead of time to determine power needs.
