Get the Most From the Jumbotron Screen at Your Event

Prepare  For The Arrival of Your Big Screen

So you have decided to rent a Jumbotron screen for your event. Now what? Here are some thoughts to help you get the most out of your screen rental.

Content is Key

There are many things to consider to get the best value from your mobile screen rental

Think about what you will have on your screen during your event. So often we show up and the event thought it would be a great idea to have the big daylight screen, but then did not put much planning into the content. Whether it is live cameras, a sponsor loop, your own messaging, or a combination of these, make sure you put some time into having good content.

Static Banners

You have a magnet for eyeballs at your event. The Jumbotron will draw the attention of your guest and participants. Use that opportunity to add value to your screen rental. Consider placing banners around the screen. You might have a few hundred dollars of cost, but with all the impressions you will get, this is a great place to highlight your web address, your brand, or your sponsors.

Screen Placement

Think about your crowd, the environment, traffic patterns, and even the direction of the sun in the sky. Screen placement is worth spending some time thinking about.

The Megatron will be a highly visible marquee cornerstone at your event.  Things like crowd movement and placing the screen facing North if possible can have a positive effect on the value you receive from your Jumbotron screen rental.

Load in – Load out

Make sure you get your screen in place with time to spare. Nothing is worse than having a screen be set after your guest arrive. If other equipment or stages need to be in place first, work out that timing with all your vendors so the frustration levels stay low and your crews stay happy.  Also make sure you have the room for your large TV load in and out. Typically screens are pulled by trucks so you will need room for both in order to get the Jumbotron in and out.

Sound

Sound can be tricky. If your content has sound you will want it to play. However at many events you can have multiple sound sources. And you do not want competing audio. If there will be more than one source of audio, try to figure out a way they can work together or get them to only play out of one source, so just one plays at a time. A Jumbotron rental typically comes with speakers if you want them. But make sure your big screen vendor knows if you need them because they do not always carry them on-board.

Communication

The above are some good items to think about. Communicate with your mobile video screen company and other vendors or parties that may be affected to ensure a positive outcome and a successful event! We all want to be on the same page so the whole event comes together smooth.
