Maintenance and Training on LED Jumbotron Equipment
Many people see us roll up with our mobile screens and figure you just show to events every once in a while and everything just magically works and that’s it. However, there is so much more that goes on behind the scenes between training, repairing gear, testing time, construction of equipment and shop space, learning new technologies and software, and other general maintenance.
A lot goes into providing these LED screens and making sure we he offer the best product when we arrive at your event. We don’t just show up and set your event, pack it all up at the end, and then wait for the next event. There is a ton of work that happens between shows that most people don’t realize. And as with any industry, not everyone takes these extra steps to ensure they are providing a quality product.
LED screens are a delicate technology that require constant maintenance and repair. At many of our shows, we end up finding some LED tiles that have a pixel that may be damaged or have gone out, which is the reason we always bring extra tiles so we can switch that tile out with a new one. With over 10,000 individual pixels on every single tile, it may not be very noticeable to the average viewer, but we notice it. Some people might not swap out for a new tile, but we do our best to make sure every pixel on your screen is 100%. Once we discover a bad pixel or tile, we take this back to our shop and then take the time to solder the pixel connection back to the panel. This is just one of the many examples showing some of the extra work that goes into maintaining our gear.
Along with our gear maintenance, we are constantly looking for new training opportunities to learn more about our equipment, and the rest of the LED, video production, and live event industries. Whether this is traveling somewhere for a class, bringing in experts to teach us something new, doing research on any number of topics, or attending seminars and trade shows, we are always looking for new growth opportunities. We are also open to new software and technology that may help us provide a better show on our big screens. No one knows everything, and we proudly admit there is always more we can learn to create a better experience for your events.
Take a look at the short video below showing just some of the maintenance and training that happens when no one else is looking:
