LED Video Screens for Democrat and Republican Campaign Events

Like most election years, our screens were busy once again on the campaign trail. Elections can be a crazy time, and this year was no exception. And due to the pandemic and social distancing, campaigns had to get a little more creative this year. Crowds were either limited or banned, so candidates needed to find a way to communicate better with their audience. Both top presidential candidates relied heavily on jumbotron LED screens to help communicate their message.

We have had the last four presidents on our mobile screens, including George W. Bush, Barack Obama, Donald Trump, and now, President-Elect Joe Biden. When it comes to our screens, we don’t choose sides. In fact, this year we were on the campaign trail of both Trump and Biden for several weeks leading up to the election. With two competing candidates each with multiple events in different states across the country each day, we were on the road from one event to the next for a couple weeks.

Because of COVID-19, campaigns looked a little different this year. The Biden campaign, at least at certain rallies, held drive-in only events, limiting the number of people and having more strict social distancing rules. In order to do this, large LED screens were a necessity. Attendees were able to drive up to the event and watch him speak from their vehicles on the video walls. The Trump rallies didn’t follow the social distancing guidelines as much, but the video screens were still crucial to his campaign. He used the screen to display messages and play video clips that had been edited to get out his message.

The LED jumbotrons have been used at political rallies and events in the past, but it seems this year it was discovered how beneficial it can be to effectively display your message to your supporters. The video boards can be used to display any content the campaign may want. From graphics, stills, slideshows, and event information, to full videos and clips or a live video feed from multiple cameras. We are able to run the whole show from our in-trailer studio to display whatever content is needed at the time.

Jumbotrons always capture the attention of the audience, and are a great way to tell a story. People will pay attention to what is happening on screen, and you can get across a message better than just speaking about it. There are things that can be communicated with images and videos that aren’t able to in other ways. The screens also allow everyone in the crowd to have a good view of the action, even in the way back. And in the times with socially distanced events, it allows crowds to spread out more.

It appears that LED video screens will become an even larger part of future campaign events going forward. But they are also great for a variety of other events, including concerts, sporting events, marathons, corporate events, family gatherings, festivals, trade shows, tailgating, viewing parties, business meetings, graduations, races, expos, charities, fundraisers, and much more.
