The New “DragonFly” LED Screen Can be Used at More Big Events

We are proud to announce the launch of a larger LED screen to our existing Jumbotron fleet. For six years Fire Up Video has serviced the upper Midwest with two 9×12 foot mobile screens. From two US presidents, to the largest single-deployment of 49 Jumbotrons across the country, to the world’s largest farm, air, motorcycle, and snowmobile shows, and much more, Fire Up Video has done it all. Now they are adding a larger 12×18.5 foot screen that will provide another option for events and expand the capability to provide service for even bigger shows with bigger audiences.

“I believe it is grow or die,” said Dave Baum, owner of Fire Up Video. “We seem to add a screen every two or three years. This time we decided to go big and give our customers another choice.” The 12×18.5 big screen is more than double the square footage of the current screens. The image will appear much larger and be more visible from further distances, and will have a much better HD-compatible screen resolution.

The new screen, called the DragonFly, is being custom built with the best LED screen and tile technology available to provide the best service and image quality to customers. “We could have went with very popular tiles that were half the price,” said Baum. “However, we wanted quality and were willing to pay for it. I am super excited about the look of this new screen. It is an amazing picture. And bright enough for all of our direct sun daylight events.”

“The screen will feature xVision’s 10mm DIP LED technology. SMD LED tiles are all the buzz, but for outdoor viewing, DIP is still the tile of choice,” said Baum. It will provide the brightness required to display the blackest blacks and whitest whites. The SMD tiles fail in both attributes when being used outdoors.

The 12×18.5 DragonFly screen is in the process of being built, and will join the two 9×12 screens and be available for rental starting June 1st.
