News Article: How Virtual, Drive-In, & Drive-Thru Events Kept Us Connected During the Pandemic

Staying Connected During COVID With Drive-In Events

It’s been about a year since live events have been shut down. Since then, companies like Fire Up Video have had to adapt to the changing industry during COVID. Here is an article we found that talks about how events have changed during the pandemic, mentioning virtual, drive-in, drive-thru, and hybrid events. Read the article here:

How virtual, drive-in and drive-thru events kept us connected during a pandemic

As the article mentions, live events  had to adapt to fit the current times. Since people couldn’t gather closely in large crowds, people started to get creative and find new forms of fun and entertainment. As a result, these types of events started popping up all over the country, and the world. Drive-ins and and drive thrus became popular, with concerts, attractions, rallies, movies, church services, company meetings and events, fundraisers, tailgating, and more. The article mentions many examples of the creative ways events were able to continue using drive-in style methods.

Virtual and hybrid events also became very popular during the pandemic. Many of these same types of events were done virtually, or in some sort of hybrid fashion. Using a variety of platforms, these events are able to send out a feed of the action so that people can view it anywhere in the world from the comfort of their homes or offices. There are plenty of options for creating a live stream virtual event, with different levels of production value, methods, content, activities, streaming options, and more. It can also be some sort of hybrid style, where some people are able to attend, but others can tune in virtually. There are plenty of options for this, it all depends what you want to get out of the event.

Luckily Fire Up Video was positioned well to transition into this new style of events. Since last spring, we have had basically all of our booked events cancel or postpone. But fortunately with our mobile LED jumbotrons we have been able to easily move into drive in events. The mobile video wall is perfect for this kind of event, with quick and easy setup, towering video screens built into our trailers, a bright LED video board, and all the appropriate equipment and expertise.

In 2020, basically our entire business became drive in and hybrid events. And so far this year has mostly been more of the same. And we still have plenty of drive-in events coming up. Even as vaccines continue to roll out and some events begin returning in some form, we still believe these drive-in events will be around for a while. Many people have become familiar with them, and they have gained popularity during the pandemic. If done right, they can be a huge hit with guests, and of course, it is a safer alternative to full-scale in-person events that will eventually return. So it makes sense that many events could incorporate some portion of drive-in style events for years to come. If you are considering a drive-in event or are simply looking for an LED video board, Fire Up Video is happy to help.

Fire Up Video provides jumbotron LED screens for events all over the Midwest, including states such as Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, Colorado, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Missouri, Tennessee, Kansas, Kentucky, and more.
