Outdoor Events Madison Wisconsin

Wisconsin is known most broadly as “America’s Dairyland” because they are a leading producer of the most delicious cheese in the US. But were you also aware that the capital of Wisconsin is known as the “Beer Capital of the Midwest”? They hold quite a few outdoor events, which possibly have a large LED screen showing off their tasty presentations. Needless to say, if you are in the mood for some quality cheese and would love to wash it down with a great beer, a trip to Madison Wisconsin is just for you! Below are some places you can enjoy a few cold ones:

Great Taste of the Midwest

The Great Taste of the Midwest is an outdoor festival, held the second Saturday in August, annually. The specifics for the 2014 festival and the sale of tickets are pending until early spring for final details. Changes are being made to improve and utilize but the event is too big to miss a year. The city gets over one hundred brewpubs and breweries together to serve over 1000 different types of beer. There will also be multiple venders offering delicious snacks and meals as well. The admission price is $50; the admission includes unlimited beer sampling. Drinking every beer available is not encouraged but a fun atmosphere and gaining beer education is. A portion of the profits goes to local groups and charities, so it’s a party for a good cause. Bring a blanket, lawn chair, some non alcoholic beverages and some food if you wish to enjoy a day filled with a massive variety of beer. The gates open at 1pm and things wrap up at 6pm at Olin Park in Madison Wisconsin.

Quivey’s Grove Beer Fest

Looking for a fun outdoor fall event in Madison? Look no further than Quivey’s Grove Beer Fest! Held October 4, 2014, this is a 21 plus event off of Nesbitt Road in Madison Wisconsin. Take time that Saturday from Noon to 5pm and enjoy over 100 beer samples, live music by Westside Andy and the Mel Ford Blues band and some scrumptious food. This event is also for a good cause, some of the profits go to a local charity. The tickets are on sale in early July and porta potty access is included. Bring your ‘of age’ friends or family members and some chairs to the festivities but be sure to leave your kids, babies, and pets with a sitter because no amount of money will get them in. The brewskies are waiting!

In Wisconsin they really cheer for beer! Join them in rain or shine for these festivals.
