The DragonFly Screen- We Got it Right

Building Our Second DragonFly Jumbotron Like the First

When you build a mobile Jumbotron screen you need to start with the end game in mind. We wanted our LED screens to go anywhere, be visible in direct sunlight, stand tall enough that it could tower over bleachers and walls, have its own built in power source, and have the right AV gear we could satisfy all our customers’ needs.

That is where we started in 2014 when we started to design our first DragonFly mobile Jumbotron. Now we are building our second Dragonfly LED screen for event rentals, and the funny thing is, we realized we would not change a thing from the first screen.

We got it right the first time.

We will need a few new items that will not effect the end result. One is a new generator. Kohler stopped making the generator we used in our 1st Dragonfly.

We have found a great replacement in Cummins-Onan. They have been in business since I was a kid (that is 50 yrs ago). Plus they are right in our back yard. It appears to be a great company with a great reputation. The second change will be our tiles. We are still going with Theatrixx Xvision and the same guts that make up our current tiles, However, we are going with the “touring” version. These tiles use a little less power, are a little brighter, and cost just a little less. The are sized a bit differently so our end size will be about 5 inches longer and 10 inches taller. The picture will match perfectly however and the size difference is small enough it will be noticeable when used stage left and right.

So in a few short months, we will have our second DragonFly complete and ready to start bringing across the Midwest to rent at your events. As a matter of fact, dates have already started to fill in, so remember to call us early to guarantee your dates and our availability.
