Learning New Equipment During the Downtime: 3play Video Replay

Along with many other people, we have had to get creative in finding ways to be able to keep our workflow going. Luckily our main office and shop is also located in the home of our “Fire Chief,” so he is able to work from there as he normally would. All gear is still available to work with which is very helpful. The only downfall is that some projects require more than one person, or other things that may not be easily available right now. But during this quarantine, we are still finding plenty to stay busy with to provide the best service for your events.

Because we can’t all come into the office, Cody has had to set up a more robust temporary office space. He often is able to do work remotely, but we have never had a time like this where he has been working from home for this amount of time, so he has had to bring some extra equipment to his house to keep working on stuff during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Just one of the projects involves learning and testing with our new 3play live replay system. This requires a more extensive setup, so we have setup a temporary basement office to really get to know this replay solution for events. We are also testing some features on our Tricaster video switcher to get to know some of these features for future use at your events. As tough as this is for our industry and everyone else, this is the perfect opportunity to learn some new services we can provide at events and work on projects that have been pushed aside in the past.

We are still figuring out all the ins and outs of the 3play replay system, but are very excited about the potential to use at live events. With this new equipment, we are able to easily create clips readily available for replay that can be sent to the jumbotron screen at the push of a button during a live show. We can also quickly create playlists and highlight reals that we can go to during intermissions or when the live event is over. This is great for many kinds of sporting events, such as football, basketball, hockey, soccer, golf, track and field, lacrosse, racing, wrestling, boxing, bull riding, rodeos, skateboarding, wakeboarding, snowboarding, skiing, snowmobiling, BMX, motocross, tractor pulls, talent shows, and much more.
