Rochester is a well known town in the state of Minnesota, which is most widely know for the Mayo Clinic, but there are other attractions and fun events to enjoy in the city. The months of July and August are full of fresh air, a beaming sun and who wants to be stuck inside for that? Luckily there are a lot events being held, whether to boost your spirits or to just to get you out of that room, the couple I would like to focus on are free of charge:

Come out and enjoy a concert at Mayo Park, this annual event is completely free and is located right next to the Mayo Clinics Civic Center, you will have a beautiful view of the Zumbro River. In recent years, the live acts have not only been local but even international! All genres are welcome, from Cajun to Celtic, Folk to Salsa, the culture is rich with life. The Riverside Concerts are held at 7pm on Sunday evenings. Bring yourself, family or friends for a music filled evening.

In the beautiful month of July the city of Rochester holds a county fair between the 21st and the 27th. The Olmsted County Fair offers free gate admission and much of the activities and entertainment is free, however they do have events that cost, as well as rides. Come and join the smiles, animals and foods of all sizes, multiple venders, helicopter rides, talent contests and the 4-H club will all be there. Most of the festivities start at 10am and the carnival nightlife goes until 11pm every night except Sunday, when the fair closes up at 6pm. Be sure to make it out to the Olmsted County Fair if are in the area of Rochester Minnesota.
