Build of New DragonFly Screen is Complete

Fire Up Video is happy to announce the completion of the new DragonFly screen. After months of planning and building, this custom-designed mobile Jumbotron is now ready to entertain crowds at events all over the Midwest.

“We are excited to add the 12 x 18.5 foot DragonFly screen to our fleet of mobile TVs,” said Dave Baum, owner and founder of Fire Up Video. “This new screen will open doors for new and existing customers. The DragonFly is twice the size of our two existing 9 x 12 foot FireFly screens and twice the resolution.”

The planning of the build for the DragonFly started back in January, and every detail of this custom-build had to be engineered and planned from scratch. The heart of the DragonFly is the physical screen, and after extensive research, we chose to work with Theatrixx, a company out of Canada.

“The Xvision 10mm DIP tiles by Theatrixx were the right choice for us,” said Baum. “We could have went with much cheaper screen tiles, but when our reputation is at stake with every event we do, cheap was not an option for Fire Up Video. They sold us on quality and service. We knew of others in the industry who owned these tiles, and they provided us with glowing references. The screen was fired up for the first time in early June and I must say, I could not be happier with the entire Theatrixx experience.”

Our Xvision screen is housed inside a custom 27 foot trailer built by Elite Custom Transport of White Bear Lake. “We chose to partner with them, and it was obvious they were all about quality as well,” said Baum. “After spending two months in their shop, we now have a beautiful trailer, and new friends as well. They are just a good group of people who have a can-do attitude and build quality trailers.”

The DragonFly is a high-quality outdoor screen that will offer a much larger option for mobile screens in the Midwest. This new screen will be great for larger events that require the use of a bigger TV. Between the DragonFly and two FireFly screens, Fire Up Video can find the right screen for any event.
